Winding Down

Hi there, it's Mouse.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My mother and sister decided to visit at the end. They stayed in our little apartment for a week. They left yesterday back to Miami. It was an active week. I need a vacation from that vacation. We hiked three times, one of which was to climb up a mountain with stairs built onto the side of it. It's called the Incline and it's located in Manitou Springs. The steps take you to the top of Pike's Peak, a 14,000 foot mountain. I only managed to do half of it. My sister was able to go all the way. I was proud of myself for having done half of it, it being my first time. Game boy and I had to wind ourselves back to bottom on a long trek. By the time I got back to the parking lot, my legs were having spasms. There was a quaint, little town at the foot of it and we did some souvenir shopping. I'm interested in going back to that area, perhaps make it to the top of Pike's Peak.

Unfortunately, during my relatives stay, Clovis adopted a couple of bad habits. My sister would volunteer to walk him, but would encourage him to run about. When we took over walking him yesterday, Clovis kept wanting to run and he would pull one of us along. He's back to growling more often, when playing tug of war. Now we have to work at reversing these behaviors.

During this past week, I didn't get any writing or editing or researching done. Shame on me. I should always make time to write. I would hate to break this habit of doing so. Recently, I read a book titled Atomic Habits by James Clear and he mentions doing a two minute rule where you would do something for two minutes. Doing this would encourage you to put more time into it, thus creating a habit. I thought it was good advice. Game boy took up this rule, by sketching for about 5 minutes every night. Great way to start something you have always wanted to do.
