It's been two weeks since we adopted Clovis and he has been making progress being house-trained and leash trained. Since he is a puppy we have to train him on everything. Sometimes there are setbacks, but he's been a real trooper and following our orders. One of the major things that concern us is how he gets hyper. He will get overly excited and would run around. One night he got out of his harness and ran up and down the street. I was worried that he would get hit by a car. The next day we bought a better harness and he hasn't escaped since. Yet he still have that hyper activity. It has been a learning process.
I'm still progressing on my novel. I have changed many scenes and have had to remove a character. Good thing I wasn't attached to her. Sometimes there are characters that you like so much, that you wouldn't think of removing them or changing them too much. I added a dual story into the novel. I hope it's not jarring reading an extra story within a story. I feel confident that my novel is getting better. In my creative writing class, they teach that if you have confidence in your story, it will show and your readers will commit to it.
The weather here is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change. What an amazing phenomenon. In Miami, leaves don't change colors to reflect Autumn. It just stays green all year round. I find it fascinating. Everyday, it changes. I look out from my balcony (I live on the 8th floor) so I can see the tree tops stretching far off. I think it supposed to peak in mid November. I can't wait to see the end result. Until next time.
