Hello Mouse here!
Our puppy Clovis has been improving in behavior and we are thrilled that it's happening so fast. His improvements have been making my doubts disappear. We are getting so close to him, that it wouldn't occur to me to take him back to the shelter. I honestly didn't think it was all going to work out. We've been learning together as pet parents. It's strange to say, but I feel that it's a real thing.
For the past four days I attended a writer's conference online. There were great webinars and I took plenty of notes. I'm planning on using them for my future books. All of it was free. If any of you saw my tweet about it and also attended; then you know what I'm talking about. I opted not to pay for the unlimited pass for it; I figure my notes would be enough. Another great writing course is the one from Brandon Sanderson. He gives his whole creative writing class through YouTube videos; all free. It's top notch stuff. In case you don't know him, he's a bestselling author of fantasy. He's best known for the book The Way of the Kings. Highly recommend watching those lectures.
My birthday was last Wednesday. I can't believe it's already been a week ago. I took it easy that day and had myself a steak dinner with turtle cake at the end. It was enough to take my mind off of the thought of getting older. I have my great health to be grateful for, yet sometimes that feeling of how you should be where you think you should be creeps in. I don't like thinking about if I am where I'm supposed to be in life. I mean everyone has their own pace. I'm doing the best that I can with what I have. That's how I'll continue to see it.
Denver had a bit of a cold snap earlier this week and I started wondering if I can handle the cold. I've been supplying myself with winter clothes and accessories. I never liked the cold and my plan is to be prepared for it. I do have plenty of warm clothes, yet I struggled. It was quite cold, it dipped down to 10 degrees. Miami has only ever gotten down to about 50. I guess I'm going to have to grow a thicker skin.
