Hello All! This is Mouse!

Just came back from a trip to Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. It felt great to finally go on vacation. I was looking forward to it for a long time, the best part is that it seemed to be a long trip; even though we were up there for only a week. Usually time flies by when you're having fun. Man, I hate that saying.

Game boy and I toured Chicago for about five days. We checked off most of the attractions off of our must see list; like the Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium. We also did the Writer's museum, which I enjoyed immensely. There was a section in the Writer's museum where you can type a writing prompt for the next guest on an old typewriter. Of course, I had to type one down. I hope someone continues it. Game boy and I had our laughs at the Second City comedy theatre. A theatre which kick started the careers of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It was awe-inspiring seeing the Impressionist masterpieces and dinosaur bones from the AIC and Field museum. We also caught a soccer game between the Chicago Fire and Inter Miami; Chicago Fire won. Ultimately, we had a great time in Chicago.

In Detroit, we took it easy and only checked out the zoo. Gameboy and I were tired from the Chicago trip since we did so much walking. Unfortunately we did so much eating too, so now I have to hit the ground running with my exercise routine. Ugh.

Things feel like they're going back to normal, even though we still have to wear masks in certain places. I've been wearing the mask for so long that now I feel uncomfortable when it's really not required to. I find myself wearing it out of habit. As an introvert it also feels like a shield from other people. Especially when you wear sunglasses, it feels like nobody can see you.

At the moment, I'm struggling to get back to my writing routine, yet I think if I give myself a day; I'll be able to get to it. I was writing a horror short story anthology and I'm pretty much wrapped up with it. I need to get back to book two of my Fantasy trilogy and find a literary agent for the first book. Those are my writing goals - for now.

Below are a few photos from the trip. Until the next post.
